Memory of the place

A little history

Vines are recorded here from the 7th century. The Abbey of Bèze, the Bishop of Autun and the Dukes of Burgundy all owned vines, and its wines were served at the table of Louis XIV. Marsannay rosé was born in 1919; the Village appellation was only recognised in 1987, and the classification of its best climats as Premier Cru has been submitted to INAO.

The style

In the glass

Deeply coloured reds with morello cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, and a meaty finish. Whites of citrus, hawthorn and acacia, round and mineral. Fresh rosés with notes of vine peach.

At the table

Flank steak with shallots, game birds; chicken Gaston Gérard with the white; summer barbecues with the rosé.
