The terroir
The slope faces east, between 250 and 300 m. The soil is very thin over hard limestone, but its fissures let the roots dive deep. Scree and gravel at the mouth of the combe ensure good drainage.

A little history
Once a dependency of the Abbey of Cîteaux, the village refuses to grow so as not to encroach on its vines. In 1878 it added the name of its most illustrious Grand Cru, Musigny, to its own. Its appellation, created in 1936, is one of the very first in France.

In the glass
Luminous ruby, violet, raspberry and strawberry; then spiced fruit, truffle and undergrowth. A texture of silk and lace, over a structure firmer than it seems.
