Soil and slope

The terroir

Between 220 and 325 m, a succession of limestones from top to bottom, and soils ranging from stony limestone to marl, down to sand over a Jurassic base. Hence the rare coexistence of both grapes.

Memory of the place

A little history

Chassagne shares Montrachet and Bâtard with Puligny. For a long time its reds dominated; the whites only took over at the end of the 20th century. Its quarries of pink and beige stone supplied famous paving, as far as the Trocadéro in Paris.

The style

In the glass

Whites of white flowers, hazelnut and fresh butter, with mineral roundness. Reds of cherry and black fruit, with firm tannins.

At the table

Whites: shellfish, poultry in cream sauce. Reds: roast meats, charcuterie.
